What are the health benefits?
Kombucha is a food -- maybe not a nutritional supplement or a medicine such, so we should be taking a look at kombucha MORE like a food it has not been researched at big for any functional benefit, like a bag of carrots. It is filled with things that our bodies need, like healthful acids and probiotics. The science supporting acids that are healthy and probiotics is strong, so it is not surprising fermented foods like kombucha make folks feel good!
What makes Health-Ade distinct than other kombucha drink brands?
Health-Ade is the best-tasting and highest-quality kombucha you can purchase. We brew the way -- how nature intended -- to ensure ours is the best brew to 100%.
We do SO many things differently, it's tough to record all of them, but the major ones include: fermenting in glass to avoid metal and plastic leaching (we're the only commercial glass brewer), brewing in super-small 2 1/2 G batches to get premium quality, flavoring with the highest quality ingredients we can find, like raw in-house cold-pressed juice out of organic produce and, simply put, we create real kombucha. We don't include any fermentors, EVER, engineered probiotics or chemicals.
Force carbonate, fermentation or pasteurize do not hasten, and our product is certified gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan, kosher, organic and raw.
A lot of people think kombucha comes out of a mushroom, but where does it actually come from?
That's a fantasy I hear all of the time -- so let me set the record straight. Kombucha does not come from a mushroom. It is made with 4 components: tea, sugar, water and the SCOBY.
The SCOBY is the kombucha culture, very similar to what's used in kefir, yogurt or sourdough, also, like those cultures, is classified as a parasite.
Basically, "fungus" implies that it comprises or was originated from yeasts and, though a mushroom is a fungus, too, there are countless funghi that aren't mushrooms.
Would you make kombucha in your home, by yourself?
You sure could, and I recommend it! This is actually how Health-Ade got its beginning.
Creating kombucha is simple, but it's certainly an art. Encourage it and you need to tend to itlike making vinegar or homemade beer. It is very different than making biscuits. When people create their own kombucha -- the kombucha out there in the world, the greater, health.
How much kombucha do You Need to drink in order to feel that the health benefits?
Remember, kombucha is a food, not a supplement or medicine. There is no "dose" recommended or maximum quantity. Drink up to makes you feel happy and nice! I tend to drink about a bottle a day, more or less.
Could you tell us a little bit about the production process at Heath-Ade?
We do everything we can to protect the flora that is friendly, such as bottle. We think Mother Nature knows best, therefore we create REAL kombucha and ferment 100% the natural way... the brew tells us when she is ready.
